The New 2019 Nissan Altima is Coming Soon

The New 2019 Nissan Altima

Due to go on sale this fall, the new 2019 Nissan Altima made its world debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show in March.  Many drivers are excited for this upcoming sedan because Nissan brought back the thrilling driving experience that many fell in love with in the past.  So, here’s what to expect from the upcoming 2019 Nissan Altima.

2019 Nissan Altima rear end view“This new Altima builds on 25 years and more than 5.6 billion Altima sales to date – but to us, this is just a starting point.  That’s why we decided to shake up the midsize segment in terms of design, driving enjoyment and technologies that are advanced and affordable.” – Denis Le Vot, Senior Vice President, Chairman of Management Committee, Nissan North America, Inc.

2019 Nissan Altima New Technologies

Like the 2018 LEAF, the 2019 Nissan Altima embodies the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision.  A major part of this is accomplished by the ProPILOT Assist driver-assistive technology, which reduces the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking under certain conditions.  Also, completely new to the Altima is the Rear Automatic Braking feature that helps drivers detect objects and apply the brakes if necessary while in reverse.  This addition to the Nissan Safety Shield creates Safety Shield 360 for front, side and rear safety monitoring and intervention technologies.

2019 Nissan Altima Engineering

There are two new engines that will be introduced on the 2019 Altima: 2.5-Liter DOHC I4 direct-injection engine and a 2.0-Liter variable compression turbo inline 4-cylinder engine.  Both of these new engines offer improvements in noise, vibration and harshness, as well as better fuel efficiency and emissions.  Plus, for the first time ever on the Altima, there will be Intelligent All-Wheel Drive available on models with the 2.5-Liter engine.  In fact, the 2.5-Liter engine is standard on all trim levels (S, SR, SV, SL and Platinum).

The all-new 2019 Nissan Altima will go on sale in fall 2018.  And there will be an exclusive launch edition based on the Platinum VC-Turbo, in limited quantities, that drivers can make a reservation for in early summer 2018.
