2018 Nissan Kicks US Release Date and Specs
The current Nissan lineup has had a long and successful run, but now, it’s time for a change. Don’t worry, we aren’t talking about shaking up the entire lineup and destroying your favorite Nissan models. Instead, we’re talking about a new addition to the lineup. It’s the 2018 Nissan Kicks, a compact crossover that already has drivers buzzing and anticipating its US release date. Allow us to share some of the specs and features you can expect.
When Will the Nissan Kicks Go On Sale?
Before we dig into some of the finer details from the Kicks, we’ll answer the question everyone has on their mind. When will the Nissan Kicks go on sale and when will we be able to get behind the wheel? Believe us… we can’t wait either.
Thankfully, the wait won’t be long. The 2018 Nissan Kicks is expected to release in the United States this upcoming spring. More specifically, you can likely expect to see it available for a test drive as early as June 2018.
High Tech Crossover Features With the 2018 Kicks
Inside, the Kicks offers the latest for entertainment with a 7-inch color display that makes smartphone connectivity on the go easier than ever thanks to available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For your music, there is a Kicks SR Premium Package that adds the Bose® Personal® Plus sound system to generate an immersive sound experience focused around the driver. The real “kicker,” however, is the system’s 2.5-inch neodymium speaker mounted inside the driver’s seat head restraint.
Other high tech equipment includes the Intelligent Around View® Monitor, or I-AVM. By utilizing four cameras, one mounted on each side of the vehicle, the system is able to generate a composite image that provides the driver with a 360-degree bird’s eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings. The camera system can also provide close-up views of certain sides of the vehicle when needed. This makes parking in tight spaces a breeze and adds some peace of mind when dealing with pesky blind spots.
2018 Nissan Kicks Performance Specs
Not all compact crossovers are made to be thrilling, but Nissan seems to have taken the same philosophy as the Juke and engineered the Kicks to be a blast. It all starts with the vehicle’s 1.6-liter engine that pumps out 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque. This may not seem like a lot for a crossover, but keep in mind that the Kicks falls in the compact crossover segment, making it smaller and more lightweight than what you may have in mind for a typical SUV. There should be plenty of zippy power available to enjoy.
Better yet, by not going too crazy with the power output on this engine, and combining the vehicle’s lightweight, the Kicks is expected to be able to achieve up to 33 mpg combined. It’s hard to beat that for a crossover.
